Those trims rely on a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque for motivation.
Both engines pair nicely with a reliable continuously variable automatic transmission. Symmetrical AWD® is standard across the 2026 Subaru Outback lineup. With the right equipment, SUVs with the base engine can tow up to 2,700 lbs while vehicles with the turbocharged powerplant can tow as much as 3,500 lbs.

The seventh-generation Subaru Outback introduces a 12.3-inch driver information display that offers selectable themes, such as Normal, Calm, and Navigation.
