Powertrain

A series-parallel hybrid powertrain is the base for the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. The powertrain includes two electric motors, a high-capacity and sealed lithium-ion battery, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder BOXER® engine. On its own, the engine produces 162 horsepower, but as part of the hybrid powertrain, net output jumps to 194 horsepower, making this the most powerful Subaru Crosstrek variant.

Symmetrical All Wheel Drive® keeps the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid sure-footed even when the roads are slick. A continuously variable automatic transmission handles gear shifts masterfully.
