Subaru Responds to Los Angeles Wildfires

February 10th, 2025 by

While Newport News is a long way from Los Angeles, our hearts go out to the people dealing with the aftermath of the recent wildfires. Right now, we are especially proud to sell Subaru vehicles because the company is making a substantial financial commitment to help those affected. Casey Subaru highlights what the carmaker is doing.

More than $100K in Donations

Subaru is donating to organizations with boots on the ground in LA. The company is giving $50,000 to Meals on Wheels America® so older adults can continue to get the food they need. A long-standing partner of the organization, Subaru has donated over $32 million over the last 16 years.

Subaru is also donating $50,000 to the ASPCA® and its California Wildfire Response & Preparedness Fund, which supports animal welfare organizations. This money will go towards emergency sheltering, medical care, evacuation and relocation, and food distribution. Subaru has been helping the ASPCA since 2008 and, in that time, has given the organization more than $38 million.

Employee Matching Program

In addition to those donations, Subaru is providing a 2-to-1 employee matching program that will benefit both the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen. For every $1 an employee donates, the Subaru of America Foundation will contribute $2, up to a total of $20,000.

Vehicle Discounts

Subaru is also helping people whose cars were damaged or lost due to the fires by giving them up to $1,000 towards the lease or purchase of a new Subaru vehicle. This program is for residents in designated disaster areas.
