Have a Cow: All About Moo Moo Subaru
Have you ever walked by a parked car and seen a toy cow on the hood? This probably wasn’t an accident, as this has become an inside joke for owners of the Subaru Outback and other Subaru models. Casey Subaru wants everybody to be in on it, and here we shed some light on the Moo Moo Subaru phenomenon.
What’s the Connection Between Subaru Owners and Cows?
For a couple of years, many Subaru owners – thousands, in fact – have done the cutest thing. They seek out fellow Subaru owners and leave rubber cows on their cars. Like many things these days, Moo Moo Subaru started on social media. What perhaps may have begun as a joke spread across the Subaru community and became an epidemic (but in a good way). The cows allow Subaru owners to connect with one another, which many believe creates camaraderie and a sense of community.
So, Why Cows?
The exact origins of why Subaru aficionados leave cows for one another are a mystery. Some think it could have something to do with the rhyming nature of “moo” and “Subaru.” Others believe it could be related to the carmaker’s logo, which features six stars representing the Pleiades constellation. Also known as the Seven Sisters, they are connected with the goddess of cows in Japanese mythology.
Ready to be Moo-ved by Fun and Philanthropy?
What started as just a lark, the Subaru cows have evolved into something more. Many places that sell cows to Subaru owners give part of the proceeds to charitable organizations in the area, so you’re not just sharing a smile; it’s another way to Share the Love®.
