2026 Subaru Outback by the Numbers

Did you know that the Subaru Outback is over 30 years old? It has evolved quite a bit over the last three-plus decades and gotten better along the way. If you’re thinking about the newest model, you may want to know about the Subaru Outback length and other key specs. This guide from Casey Subaru goes over the numbers.
A Bigger Subaru Outback
The 2026 Subaru Outback has made some changes, and one of them concerns size. This vehicle is now larger all around. It is 192.3 inches long, which is about an inch longer than the previous model. Body width is now 75.8 inches, and it is 68.1 inches tall, which is a full two inches bigger than the 2025 version. The wheelbase, however, stays the same, and this is 108.1 inches. The 8.7 inches of ground clearance is also unchanged.
Excellent Towing and Transport Ability
Towing has always been a strong feature of the Subaru Outback, and the 2026 model is ready to work. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,500 pounds. Plus, the roof rails have a static load capacity of 800 pounds, so you can pile on the gear and equipment.
More Space for People and Cargo
Because the 2026 Subaru Outback is larger, you’d probably expect it to be able to hold more, and you would be right. While the passenger capacity of five is the same, riders will have additional room to move around in both rows. Cargo space is improved quite a bit, as the area behind the rear seats now contains 34.6 cubic feet, an increase of two cubic feet over the outgoing model.
